Digital Storybooks

We learned about Digital story telling in class this week. It is really neat. You can use this to teach anythihng. We only briefly talked about it so I am really excited to learn more.

Google Sites

We learned about google sites this week. It is really just similar to blogspot actually. It is cool to learn that there are many things available to us with out gmail account. It is fantastic! It was nice to actually have time to make a site look good. Most of the time I dont. I just create one and dont have time to really do anthing with it so It was great to be able to play around with for the whole class time and figure out how everything works. I did have a hard time trying to make the pictures the way I want because they would arrange the way I wanted. You could use google sites as an online diary or scrapbook diary thing. It is really neat!

google docs

This week we learned how to use google docs to collaborate for a research project! it was kind of confusing when eveyone was on it at the same time adding things to it but i can see how it would be very useful for doing projects together when we are all not on at the same time. I am definitely going to use this for my group projects! I can show this to my students so they can use this great technology to collaborate with eachother!

Technology Immigrants

We talked in class this week about technology immigrants and Natives. If you can remeber time without a certain type of technology, you are an immigrant, if not, you are a native. So, being a teacher, I will be an immigrant to technology, teaching natives. it is interesting to think of. I can remember a time before everyone had cell phones and everyone used the internet to shop and research. These are thing the childrern in my class will be used to because it has been that way all of their lives. I feel confident with technology but some of the students I will have, will have been using computers since they were three. My niece is three and she knows how to do things on the computer! It is crazy!
